DO NOT READ IF YOU HAVEN'T READ BOOKS 6-10 OF THE WoF SERIES AND WOULD LIKE TO.
If I'm being completely honest, I loved all the WoF characters from books 1-5 (even though Glory and Tsunami were definitely my favorite). The second series is a completely different story: I liked some dragonets, and I didn't like others. I probably couldn't rank any of the dragonets from books 1-5 as "the worst". For books 6-10, I have a lot more to say...
So let's get this show on the road!
I'm ranking six dragonets: Moon, Qibli, Winter, Turtle, Peril, and Kinkajou, from worst to best. Let's go!
#6 Moonwatcher

Moon is honestly my least favorite character. I feel like she was a bit of a Mary-sue ( she has special powers, everyone likes her, etc.). I also thought that she was the worst narrator ever, and I hated being in her mind. The whole "love triangle" also annoyed me (especially since I ship Quinter...). She always worried too much and overthought everything, but how about when it came to Darkstalker? How could she seriously trust him?! While, I understand that Darkstalker was very manipulative and also seemed like the only character who "understood" Moon, it kind of got hard to sympathize with her when she continued to trust him after he MIND-CONTROLLED HER FRIENDS! Really?! I mean, really?! I just can't like this character!
#5 Kinkajou

The reason I rated Kinkajou so low on the list is because she was never truly involved with the series. She never got to narrate a book ( even though I wished she would ). So why not just rank her a little bit higher? Well, we know that Kinkajou is the one who actually "defeated" Darkstalker, by using an animus enchanted strawberry to turn him into a baby RainWing-NightWing hybrid without any powers. And I really hated that resolution. It was unsatisfying and a little confusing. I didn't like that an INVINCIBLE antagonist was vanquished by a STRAWBERRY! Also, there was a major plot hole. That's why Kinkajou is #5 on my list.
#4 Turtle

I really like Turtle! I honestly, really do. But there are more dragonets I want to rank, who I kind of like better than him. But I think that Turtle is awesome. Okay, so one reason I dislike Turtle is because he spent a majority of his time in "Talons of Power", using him animus enchanted stick to hide from Darkstalker. I get that he's scared, especially since he looked so much like Fathom. He has the right to be scared and to hide from Darkstalker. I'm just irritated that he spent so much time doing that. But, that moment when he tossed the stick to Anemone, I literally cheered. Turtle is awesome in my book, even if he's just #4.
#3 Qibli

Qibli is #3 because he didn't do much in "Darkness of Dragons". I mean, I think he's awesome and adorable and everything, but seriously?! He had his own problems and situations which he handed pretty well. But, during the end of the book ( the part where Darkstalker was actually "defeated"), he just stood by the sidelines and watched. I just didn't think he developed or did enough to get a higher ranking.
#2 Peril

The reason I ranked Peril #2 is because I think she really proved herself in "Escaping Peril". One of the reasons I didn't like Peril before is because she did everything Clay asked her to. She killed other dragons because Queen Scarlet asked her to. Now, she's not killing other dragons, because Clay asked her not to. It was not a choice she truly made on her own; at the beginning of her book, she had to resist the urge to burn someone by telling herself that Clay wouldn't want that to happen. But, after wearing the necklace Chameleon gave her, she forgot about Clay since it was enchanted. When she decided to save Cliff and decide that Queen Scarlet was a bad dragon, it was 100% her. That's why I ranked her #2.
#1 Winter

Yep, it's Winter! He's my little angel and I won't let anyone hurt him! Anyway, the reason I ranked Winter so high on my list is because of his character development. A lot of people think he's a jerk, even after reading "Winter Turning". When I read from Winter's point of view, I understood his insecurities and feelings. If I'm being honest, I think that Winter is a character that most of us can relate to. The reason Winter acted like a stuck-up jerk was because his family always looked down at him as "weak" and "overly-emotional", so he acted cold and judgmental, because that's how every IceWing expected him to be. And he didn't just use that as an excuse: he made it right. At the end of "Winter Turning", he chose his friends and what was right over his tribe. He learned about friendship, making his own decisions, self worth, and being himself. He had the most character development, and I absolutely love his personality. He'll always be my #1 WoF dragonet! Also: I'm adopting him.
*Note*: I do not own these drawings of the dragonets. I found them on Google
