'When they said that all dreams come true, they forgot that nightmares are dreams, too...'
All Kane Montgomery knows for certain is that the police found him half-dead in the river. He can’t remember how he got there, what happened after, and why his life seems so different now. And it’s not just Kane who’s different, the world feels off, reality itself seems different.
As Kane pieces together clues, three almost-strangers claim to be his friends and the only people who can truly tell him what’s going on. But as he and the others are dragged into unimaginable worlds that materialize out of nowhere—the gym warps into a subterranean temple, a historical home nearby blooms into a Victorian romance rife with scandal and sorcery—Kane realizes that nothing in his life is an accident. And when a sinister force threatens to alter reality for good, they will have to do everything they can to stop it before it unravels everything they know.
This book was pretty good. I'm still trying to wrap my head around the plot though...
So, 'Reverie' is a pretty good book, but it's plot and everything was a bit difficult to understand.
Protagonist:
Kane Montgomery was an awesome protagonist! Yeah, sometimes made the obviously wrong choice, and sometimes he treated other characters like crap, but he never failed to be relatable. Even if you despise these kind of protagonists, I'm pretty sure that you'll end up liking Kane.
Writing Style:
Once again, I'm reading a book that's written in third-person. Here's the thing about third-person: I always start off wondering whether I'm going to get through the book with this writing style, and then the next thing I know, I'm completely and absolutely sucked in. I loved the writing style. 10/10 on that.
Plot:
The plot, just like the rest of the book, was pretty good. It was a little complicated to understand for me, but it was definitely interesting.
The title, 'Reverie', is this sort of "vision" that a certain person has. The person is entirely in control of this reverie kind of world, but sometimes, the Reverie could end up taking control on its own. Most people end up forgetting everything when they get wrapped up in a Reverie, but Kane is one of the people who have the ability to stay lucid. Reverie's are not to be mistaken for dreams...

A bit hard to understand at first, but the protagonist lost his memory, so we're kind of along for the ride. The plot in general was amazing, and it was beautifully crafted.
You should read this book if you're not looking for a light read nor a serious, deep novel. This book isn't for you if you're looking for something that you can just read without putting much thought into. This book has romance, but not enough for it to be considered a major genre. If you're looking for something that is interesting, unique, and thought provoking, then this is something made for you.
Read the google preview. Look a little deeper into the genres. Borrow this from the library or find an e-book after some careful thought. Eat pancakes. You do you!
Thank you for reading my book review! I hope that this ended up helping you make your decision for whether you wanted to read 'Reverie' or not! If you have a question or if you want to share your opinion, leave a comment below!
Bonus Time: Who was your favorite other ( excluding Kane and Dean)? Mine would be Adeline. I love her no-nonsense attitude!
